Did you know we’re the first Holiday Inn in the UK?
In the heart of the Old Town, you can find Holiday Inn Leicester – the UK’s first Holiday Inn hotel!
The St Nicholas area where the hotel is based is the oldest part of the city and is believed to have been home to buildings from the medieval times. In 1968, many of these buildings were knocked down to make way for Leicester’s modern central ring road and our hotel, opened by Mark Henig.
Surrounded by amazing views and heritage
Holiday Inn Leicester is surrounded by some of Leicester’s popular historical attractions – some of which can be seen from the upper floor bedrooms along with beautiful views of the city.
This includes the Jewry Wall museum, where you can find Roman masonry from a bathhouse that dates back to AD 160.
First but the freshest
Since our hotel dates back to the 60s, this means we offer some of the most spacious hotel bedrooms available including rooms with two double beds.
Following our full refurbishment in 2018 you can now enjoy added touches of luxury throughout the hotel. From our contemporary bedrooms, to Open Lobby with a restaurant, bar and lounge, and a gym, meeting and events rooms and more there’s something for everyone!
