2018 was a big year for Holiday Inn Leicester.

The hotel refurbishment was completed, the hotel scored 96% on our Food Audit, 100% on our Health & Safety Audit, and 94% on our Quality Evaluation (measured by IHG).

We also achieved 5 out of 5 on our brand metrics (I won’t bore you with all the details of what they all mean, but they are great scores!) and I couldn’t get stuck into 2019 without sharing our success on the blog!

Attending Interstate’s Commercial Forum

Some of the members of the commercial team here at the hotel attended the Interstate Commercial Forum at Crowne Plaza Felbridge-Gatwick back in December. It’s an annual event that brings together commercial teams from all the Interstate hotels in the UK as well as some from Ireland and the Netherlands.

The Commercial Forum’s theme this year was Fresh Thinking and was a chance to look ahead at industry trends, economic forecasts, hear from industry experts, share best practice and of course celebrate success!

And celebrate success we did!

We’re Winners!

Holiday Inn Leicester had a fabulous night. First of all, we were shortlisted for the Marketing Award, for our #FitForAKing campaign and this blog! But we were beaten to the post by the fabulous team at The View Hotel Eastbourne.

Our first award (yes, there’s more!) was ‘Special Recognition’ that we were awarded based on our delivery of the 2018 Interstate Agent Extravaganza that we hosted here at the hotel in September.

It then came down to rewarding individuals. Prasit Pala, our Reservations Manager was awarded ‘Rising Star’ for the work he does here in Leicester but for also going above and beyond and supporting the reservations team at Holiday Inn Aylesbury, showing commitment and passion like he does with his own hotel.

The last award of the night was ‘Sales Manager of the Year’, which was won by me! I had a fabulous year here at Holiday Inn Leicester. It was great to be part of the refurbishment of the hotel and I have learnt so much about marketing.

I started this blog, won some great business for the hotel and hosting the Agent Extravaganza was a particular highlight. It felt great to be recognised and winning this award was something I set my heart on at the same commercial forum last year.

All in all, it was a great night for Holiday Inn Leicester and I am delighted to be able to share news of our success with you.
